We entered Holy Week through the gates of Jerusalem with Jesus on Sunday. Our journey with Jesus this week will take us to the Last Supper on Thursday evening as we share a soup meal at 5:30 followed by our Maundy Thursday service at 6:00.
To reach the resurrection on Easter Sunday, we must acknowledge the death and despair felt by the original disciples on Good Friday. We will gather at 4:00 for a short service, walk or drive to St. John’s Catholic Church for a shared meal at 5, and a final service with our sisters and brothers in the church universal at 6:00.
Saturday is a day of prayer. We still have some slots for the vigil at the church (3-3:30, 3:30-4, 4:30-5, 5-5:30, 5:30-6, 6-6:30, 6:30-7, 7-7:30, and 7:30-8.) Please let Tim know by email firstname.lastname@example.org or let Maggie know by email email@example.com or phone 304-559-7637, if you can fill one of these slots.
And, of course, we will have a grand celebration as love overcomes death on Easter Sunday. We will have special live music by Sharon Hamner’s grand- daughter (and Myrtle’s great – granddaughter).
Please invite others to join us for one, two, or more of these services!
