Making a Place for People with Disabilities

How can we be more welcoming of those with disabilities? Join us for a two-hour webinar on Saturday, April 25 from 10:30-12:30. We will gather in the overflow area behind the sanctuary to be a part of “The Welcoming Church: Making a Place for People with Disabilities” led by Dr. Emily Askew of Lexington Theological Seminary. There is no fee for this event. It is open to the public. Light refreshments will be available.

The places where most of us go in times of struggle – places of worship – should not be the places from which we feel rejected, yet studies and anecdotal evidence tell us that for people with disabilities this is the reality. How can we become the Church which Christ calls us to be – one that welcomes people of all abilities? This webinar addresses the ways that churches can become more receptive to the needs of people with disabilities and their families. [www.lextheo.edu/category/events]
