Vacation Bible School began with excitement and joy! The children began by donning their green shirts, eating snacks, and Bible Study. The children are learning the call story of Samuel (1 Samuel 3:2-11) this week.
Following Bible study the children crossed the street to Summit Springs Village to make prayer flags with some of the residents. The afternoon concluded with an M&M Relay race and singing, “Here I Am, Lord!”
Please bring items — as specified — to the church. If you would like to donate money to help with this project, please indicate “CWS School Kits” in the memo of your check.
This Sunday, our collection focus is: 70-count spiral notebooks or notebooks totaling 200-210 pages (no loose-leaf or filler paper).
The children visited Summit Springs Village on their first day of Vacation Bible School. Each child spent time interviewing one of the residents. They will return Thursday to make a presentation related to the interviews and to sing. The scriptural focus for VBS is Mark 12:28-31.
Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow! Join us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 5:30. Prema & Annika will be leading games. Participants will study the Bible with Tim, create prayer flags, get a free tshirt (like those in the photo, enjoy cool snacks on a hot day, and practice loving your neighbor as yourself by visiting at Summit Springs Village.

Bible Fridays Begins September 20
Tim Graves will lead a Bible Study Friday mornings at 10 beginning September 20. (The start was delayed by the school schedule.) This study is designed for children in grades 1 through 6. Marva Crim has agreed to assist. This will be the first opportunity for the children who received Bibles in July to use them in a formal study.
SSV Bible Study
Tim Graves will lead a Bible Study Thursday afternoons at 3 at Summit Springs Village. It began September 5 and meets each week. (It will not meet, however, on September 26.) This study is open to residents as well as other community adults.
We may also begin another online study in the near future. Please let Tim know if you’re interested.
